Picture this. You and your family are out for dinner at and restaurant and your little ones are disruptive because they are BOARD and hungry . This LEGO activity box is perfect to keep them occupied. It is the right sized to fit into a purse or backpack. It is something different for them to play with other than crayons while they are waiting for the food. When I showed my eleven year old boy he was pretty excited. So it doesn’t have to be for just little ones either.

wooden box – There are all kinds of boxes you use this is the one I choose.
glue – use a very strong glue because of the way the LEGO blocks are pulled apart
Vinyl – optional
Cricut Explorer One -optional
First, I spray painted the box.
Next, I found some flat LEGOS that fit on top of the lid. There was only a very tiny space left. I made sure that space was on the end of the lid that you use to slide the lid. It makes it easier to slide, something to grab onto.
With a pencil I drew a line around the lid so I would know where to glue the LEGOS and still have the lid work. I used all purpose glue and carefully glued the LEGOS to the lid.
While the glue was drying I cut out my son’s name in vinyl. I wanted to personalize it for him. Of course this is optional.
There are many different things you could do to personalize it with paint, markers, stencils, stickers. The list is endless. come to think of it you could have the kids decorate the box.
Last, put some LEGOS inside the box. Now they have and platform to build on and a place to store them until the next time you are feeling adventurous and want to go out to eat with your kids.
I love finding ways to amuse my kids. Do you have any secret tips, toys, or games to keep kids amused? I would love to hear about them.
Thanks for stopping by.
