This Fall outdoor decoration took me about 10 minutes to complete. I spent more time picking out the flowers than it took me to put this project together.
First, I gathered all my supplies together. I had this old milk can that has been hanging around for years. It has a lot of character, with rust and dents in it. The can was going to be my container. Next, I had to find some that would fit in the top. I found an old flower pot that fit perfectly.
Then, I cut floral foam to fit inside of the pot. (ya know the green stuff that holds the flowers in place) Next, I started poking the flowers I picked out into the foam. I had chosen three different lengths of flowers. I started with the taller stuff in the back, medium in the middle and shorter up front.
Last, I tied a ribbon around the top of the can. That really wasn’t enough so I made a bow. It has been a very long time since I have made anything with ribbon and this ribbon has the wire on the edges. It sure makes a pretty bow.
I am going to place it at our front gate to welcome visitors to the house(and that way the dogs can’t get at it).

- a container – I used an old milk can but you can use a big flower pot or even a trash can. Think outside of the box.
- floral foam– ya know that green stuff(LOL).
- 6 to 10 flower picks depending on the size of your container. You want them to be in fall colors.
- wired ribbon – I used very rustic looking ribbon that would go with the theme and old milk can.
Have you made fall decorations yet? I would love to hear about them!
Thanks for stopping by.
