Going back to school is one of the most exciting time of the year for my son (I have to admit it is for me too). The most favorite thing he like to buy is his backpack. It sets the tone for his year. Well, as his Mom, I “ok” his backpack by the way it fits. Here are a few pointers to pick the perfect backpack for your kids.
Back to School Backpack Tips:
- If you can have your child try the backpack on your child. The bottom of the backpack should hit their lower back and no lower than 4 inch below their waist.
- The backpack should have 2 straps which helps evenly distribute the weight of the backpack. Also, the point where the top of the backpack and strap meet should not hit more than one or two inches below the top of their shoulders.
- Speaking of weight, it has been recommended the backpack should not exceed 10 percent of the child’s weight for grade school aged children. For high school and beyond it is recommended not to exceed 15 to 20 percent of their weight.
Below are backpacks I just love I hope you enjoy them.

You can argue that it is January 1st, or when Spring comes. But listen, you get new supplies, new clothes, new shoes, new teachers, new haircut, sometimes a new school and new friends, everything is new.
