Hi! I am Terri. I decided to be a blogger…This is a new title I have given myself. I have many titles in my life. Some I have created to describe myself and some have been given to me. Some are well deserved, earned, loved, and give me a sense of pride. Some I didn’t like at first but grew into, and some I was scared to death to have. I am not sure where blogger is going but it should be fun!
TITLES – What’s in a name?
So here are some of my titles in a somewhat chronological order…daughter, sweet girl, only child, only niece, only grandchild, high school grad, college dropout, single mother (3rd generation), working mother, empty nester, late life mother, home owner, wife, divorcee, wife 2nd time, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, full time cook and bottle washer, amateur gardener, college graduate, crafter, DYI’er, grandmother, caregiver to injured mom, survivor, executor, Den Mother and now blogger. These are the ones that bubble to the surface and stick out the most to me. I am sure there are a bunch I have subconsciously (or maybe consciously) left out.
In this blog, I am going to talk about being a caregiver. I was my mom’s primary caregiver after a tragic accident. After that experience I would like to help anyone out there that is a caregiver. It was a very challenging job, but I would not have given it up for the world. I was blessed enough to have been able to be there for my mom when I had to be. During that time, my husband and I were in the middle, taking care of our young son, and an aging parent, hence the sandwich generation. My mother has since past away but we are still part of the generation because we have other loved ones to think about in their “golden years” (not only parents but childless aunts and uncles). Thankfully, at this time, they all are very healthy and active seniors.
Millennial advise Blogger.
So, for the longest time I have been hearing a lot about ‘Millennials’. They, for the most part, are good ‘kids'(I say kids with the utmost respect and because ya’ll are younger than I am haha). However, I am tired of seeing the lack of life skills. I don’t LIKE finger pointing(meaning I am not here to blame anyone) so I have decided I would try and teach what seems to be lacking. I will be writing on all types of subjects from banking to preparing a meal from scratch to buying a house to planting a garden. Life skills people! The stuff that should not be forgotten.
I have had this blog up for a little less than a year and it has gone through some little changes in direction. I am sure it will keep on changing. Life is not interesting without change. My wish to you as my readers will enjoy and learn from what I write. I hope that you will let me know what you like and even the stuff you don’t(please be polite). This has been and I hope it will continue to be an incredible journey.
Thanks for stopping by.
